Jose Rodriguez is proud of his family's restaurant heritage in Oak Harbor, as it is the oldest Mexican restaurant on Whidbey- having opened in 1982. He is critically involved in the daily operations of El Cazador, and it's community relations. He is a consumate restaurant professional who spends most of his time working alongside and overseeing his staff in the kitchen and dining areas. As the eldest son of founders Hilda and Aurelio Rodriguez, Sr. he has worked every position within El Cazador and is proud to continue his family's business legacy.
During his tenure, El Cazador has seen numerous "The Best of Whidbey" awards for Best Mexican, with the most recent "Best Mexican" title won during Evening Magazine's The Best of Western Washington contest. Jose is a native Whidbey Islander who spends his free time on his motorcycle or enjoying local events with his Wife Natasha and their two english bulldogs.
Natasha works closely with her Husband Jose to create the new dishes, menus, and seasonal specials. She is creative and passionate as the director of marketing, graphic design and charitable donations. She also takes great pride in representing El Cazador within the Oak Harbor community. Natasha is an avid music enthusiast and animal lover, also a native to the Pacific Northwest and a self-described "coffee-a-holic".
This Chef and Sous Chef duo (known affectionately as "the Tios") are brothers who have worked together since El Cazador's inception in 1982. They are talented and highly regarded by the staff within El Cazador. Each has their specialty within the kitchen, and both possess natural and curated talents for all aspects of Mexican culinary work.
We are fortunate to have a Manager team that take great pride in their work at El Cazador. Patricia is a passionate worker (and former Rodriguez) who has worked within the business since her very early teen years. Leo has spent several years in Management within the El Cazador locations. They work together to create a fun environment for the employees and are very much loved by the El Cazador staff. On their off days Leo and Patricia spend time with their three children and Corgi named Max.
Paco is the beloved Uncle and Youngest Rodriguez Brother. He is comical and good natured, and has served the Whidbey Community from behind The Cantina bar top for over 20 years. He proudly won Best Bartender of Whidbey in 2012 and 2013. Be sure to ask for his off-menu signature margarita named for his home state in Mexico- "Paco's Nayarit."
